April WHAT brings May Flowers

This post is for my nephew Nate who is in Iraq. He emailed me this morning and is completing his 2nd stay there. He hopes to be home in early June. Just incase you forgot what snow looks like Nate this is for you!
Our bird feeder has been a very busy place this morning. Dad captured a cardinal that is sitting on the back of this feeder.
We measured almost 15 inches of snow on top of the hot tub cover
Last week we were grilling outside. Some of our friends in Woodland Heights were scheduled to have a rummage sale today. Because mom is getting ready for a rummage sale too we left the cars and the grill outside. Hotdogs anyone??
Oreo finds the snow deeper then he is this morning. After trying to follow me down the driveway he decided to sit for a while and look for any signs of spring.Looks like we aren't going anywhere too soon.

Lindsay and Sam's unforgettable duet

Here is the duet that Lindsay and Sam sang together at Lindsay's senior recital. Unfortunately this mom turned the camera the wrong way. I guess you can't rotate videos like you can a picture! :)I was really feeling pretty good about my computer and camera skills but I am once again humbled. Just pretend you are in an omni theatre and tilt your head a little sideways!

Lindsay's Senior Vocal Recital

Here are some pictures of Lindsay's senior voice recital that occurred on Sunday. I tried to upload a duet that she and Sam sang but blogger must be having some problems. I will attempt to add it tomorrow. Lindsay and Courtney at their senior recital with their voice instructor. I believe they advertised this as the Red Recital since they both have red hair. Here is a group picture of some of the relatives and friends that attended Lindsay's recital. How special to have so many people supporting her! Thank you! Nick and Jeff came to support their sister too.

More recital pictures

These are two of Lindsay's very best friends. They are so loyal and so supportive. Johanna and Ruth you are the best!
A quick picture and a breath of fresh air after the concert. Sam with a very relieved Lindsay!
These two little girls are giving Lindsay some stiff competition! They have known Sam longer then Lindsay has and they love Sam. They are the two little gals that Lindsay nannies. They will make two very cute flower girls! Friday night after Lindsay's Jazz concert we went out to eat with all of Lindsay's aunt and uncles who have been so supportive of her at concert and recital times. The little boy in the back (in the orange t-shirt) doesn't actually belong to our family. He was a guest at the restaurant and thought we were having more fun then the people he was out with so he joined our party!

"I'm getting married!"

How can it be that about 20 years ago this little red headed girl came flying down the stairs after carefully "dressing up" to announce "I am getting married tonight!" Just a few days ago this mom heard those very same words. "Mom , I am getting married." Dad did a good job keeping it a secret so Lindsay could tell mom!

Congratulations Lindsay and Sam. We are so excited for the two of you! How wonderful for both of you to know that you had 4 parents praying since you were little for the Lord to provide just the right mate for you. We are so excited to see how He uses the two of you to further his Kingdom!

We have already promised Sam that in January when his bride walks down the aisle that her socks will match and her shoes will be on the right feet.

The last picture was taken just last night when Lindsay and Sam shared with her grandparents (who have been married 65 years) their new news. Sam made a big hit with Grandma when she learned they share a german heritage.

We love you guys! Enjoy the journey.
