More Alaska!

Below is the first glacier we saw. This was Mendenhal Glacier in Juneau. We caught a bus out of Juneau and then hiked up here. It was a great day and also the first time we saw pink salmon swimming upstream.
This picture was taken at port outside of Skagway. It is called Reid Falls. Again a fun little adventure as we discovered this gem on our hike.
Back on the ship we started entering Glacier Bay. This was a sea otter and her babies floating on a chunk of ice.
One of many glaciers we saw. The blue coloring was amazing to us.
When we got off the Princess Sapphire we got on a catamaran called the Klondike Express and that took us on a 4 hour cruise from Whittier, Alaska to Valdez....another fun memory!

Memories from Alaska

Our trip to Alaska was such a fun time. We started planning it almost 2 years ago to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. There were 10 of us that traveled together. The Berges, The Paul Levangs, Paul's brother Dean and his wife Deb, Dan Halvorsen and his dad Howard. We were so sorry that at the last minute Dan's wife Pam needed to back out when her dad became ill. He passed away just a few days ago. We missed you Pam and are so sorry for your loss.

Lots could be said about our trip and I will post more pictures later but here are a few pictures to describe good friends, the beautiful wildflowers of Alaska, good food, good fun and family.
The wildflowers of Alaska are beautiful. I couldn't get enough pictures of them.
This was one of our favorite desserts called the "love boat". Did anyone have 2 desserts at one time??
The ATV trip was one of the highlights of our trip. We traveled into the mountains, through the woods and into the river and yes we did see fresh Grizzly bear prints! YIKES!
This was one of our favorite little Alaskan towns.
