This blog was designed for our family. It's in full color as it shows the changing patterns of life in the Risbrudt family. It paints a portrait of the times of learning, growing, and loving that strengthens us. As our children are leaving home we designed this blog to help us keep in touch with what is happening in each other's lives. With family by our side we can always count on someone who knew us as we were then and loves us as we are now. You are welcome to take a peek if you like.

Say Cheese!
Sunday found all 5 of us together. This has not happened for a long time. We celebrated Nick's birthday and then we took the opportunity to set the timer on the Camera and shoot some pictures. We did much better this time. We weren't so crabby as in past photo opportunites. I guess we are growing up!
Nicholas is 16!
How can it be that the baby of the family is already 16 years old? You were born on a late fall Sunday afternoon during a Minnesota Vikings game of course. Your kind and compassionate spirit is evident in how you care for those you meet. I remember when you were a 3 year old and you were eating Captain Berry Crunch Cereal . You said "Jesus will really like this berry crunch cereal mommy ". I responded by saying that I didn't know if Jesus ate cereal in heaven. To which you said to me "But I am eating the cereal mommy and he'll get some because he is in my heart". May Jesus always live in your heart Nicholas. May you never forget the baby Jesus born in a manger that came to give you eternal life with him forever. Just maybe that will include sharing a bowl of Captain Berry Crunch in heaven together. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK! WE LOVE YOU!
Parents Day at Itasca
Richard and I enjoyed a fall drive to Grand Rapids to visit Jeff at college. We liked eating lunch with the other parents and students, watching a football game while Jeff took stats, and seeing Jeff settling into the college scene. The first pic is of the new Engineering building. Jeff lives on the third floor and his classes are on the first two floors. Somehow in experimenting with my camera I got 16 mini images in one pictures. Will I ever figure out my camera?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR LINDSAY!
Dear Daughter:
The day you were born what a gift from God we received and from that day forward you have brought so much joy to us and to those whose lives you have touched. On this day we celebrate the beautiful person you have become and give thanks for the gift of you! May all your wishes come true. Happy Birthday to our pumpkin doll!
Hot Dog Anyone!
Once a year the footlong hot dog stands come out of storage to help feed the many visitors at the Dalton Threshing Bee. We missed Jeff and Lindsay this year. Your children finally get old enough to help you and then they move to college. Thanks to Pere, Adam, Alison, Brett, Nick, Hans and Ethan for working hard in the cold, wind and rain! Cousin Brett even provided drive up service to the customer who didn't want to leave his tractor! It is always fun to see family including our newest great niece and nephew Alexandra and Hudson.
Friday Nights
What can be better then a crisp fall night under the lights with a light breeze blowing off the lake. Well, maybe a victory, but we were close! The Otters lost 14-12 to Bemidji in a very physical game. Fun, food and fellowship was had on the fan bus as we enjoyed a coach bus ride there and back. Thanks Jeff for coming from Grand Rapids to help keep stats. My two most favorite #7's at the game. Life is good!

Double Date!
Two years ago at the First Otter Golf Invitational Coach won these Taco Tokens in a drawing. I believe Emily might have even drawn his name. Coach gave them to Emily B (aka "Bubba") and said that they would go out for Tacos together some time. Well, after Emily's mom carefully dusted the tokens in her kitchen window for 2 years Emily finally got to go out for Tacos on Monday. I think maybe the men in my family were afraid of being rejected if they asked Emily for that date! Lucky for them she said "YES!" A good time was had by all!
Are you ready for some football??
Nicholas had his first JV football game last week in Sauk Rapids. Unfortunately his friend Lars broke his leg playing quarterback early in the second quarter. Nick was moved to quarterback and as tradition has it was wearing #7. (That was Jeff's number in high school). The game was tied 6-6 with a minute left. Here is how it ended.

Good Day Mate!
Jeff is moving to college
This is Jeff's room at Itasca in Grand Rapids. It looks much better now that it is "moved into" by Jeff and his two roommates. Jeff is majoring in Engineering and is enrolled in an Engineering Speciality program here. He has successfully completed his first week on campus! Rumor has it he and his roommate finished 2nd out of 25 teams in Frisbee golf tournament!
Golf , Golf and more Golf!
Birthday Fun!
