A FUN SURPRISE !

Last week when the Otters played in Bemidji I arrived to find Jeff on the sidelines. What a nice surprise for us to see him. He drove down from Itasca in Grand Rapids to take in the game.
Jeff and Marie are cheering on the Otters. Carol Aase is in this picture too but I cropped her out so I could still be her friend! :)
These two little ladies were at the game in plenty of time. They parked their wheel chairs just down from the Otter bench. I don't know who they are or who they were cheering for but I hope when I am their age I will get out in my wheelchair on a rainy night for Friday Night Football! Yes, Nicholas almost landed in their laps as he flew out of bounds on a play. What an inspiration!

Birthday Buddies

On September 21 and September 26 these two will be celebrating their 17th Birthdays! Wow they have grown up fast. Nick and Kathryn have celebrated together in the past so I thought we might enjoy seeing a few of those parties.
Here they are celebrating their 5th birthday with a pool party.
Then at 14 they had a party at the PAC in Perham. Nice braces! Thanks for putting up with me you two when I wanted to take a picture of the two of you again. I actually have a 4 year old birthday picture of the two of you in this same chair but I can't find it. Goes to show you I don't get new furniture very often. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK AND KAT!

A trip to Grand Rapids

After a few short hours of sleep we were up bright and early heading down the road to see Jeff. It was "Parents Day" at Itasca Community College and we wanted to see Jeff. Here is a one of the pictures I took on the campus.
This is Jeff's dorm . He is an RA this year so we got to see his room and suite that he stays in. We brought him a bike so he can save on gas. I wonder who that is riding the bike?
These are just a few of the beautiful trees that we saw on our way up north today.

Football in the fog (literally)!

The Otters played a very tough Rocori team this week. We were fortunate to come out on top. The guys knew it too. Josh Campion is leading the team in giving thanks after a hard fought battle.
Our little buddy E came with his dad to the game to cheer on the Otters. He had many roles at the game. He led the high school students in the wave many times and in this picture he is showing the team how to look tough! I think it worked!
This is Trevor Gervais kicking a field goal. It was a very foggy night! This summer on the golf course Nick and his golfing buddy Trevor had some serious conversations about Trevor coming out to do the kicking for the Otters. Trevor is a soccer player but once a week on Friday nights he is the football team's kicker and is doing an awesome job!
Nick is in the gold pants going up for a catch and he caught it. Thanks to Paula for "catching" this picture. Will and Nick after a hard fought game.

A longggggggggggggggg STRETCH!

Thanks to Paula Sauer for capturing this fun picture of Nick catching a ball in the end zone for an Otter touchdown! This was an exciting game when Fergus Falls beat Sartell. Mom was at the wedding but we made a few trips out to the van to check the radio and the score!

A Bridal Shower

With having a wedding on Friday night my sisters thought it would be fun to have a shower Saturday for Lindsay since so many family members were in town.
This is Lindsay with my mom (in the black and red) and her sister (my great aunt Delayne)
Lindsay opening presents with her cousin Jen helping. Jen is Lindsay's personal attendent.
Lindsay with my sisters who gave her the shower. The guys went bowling while the women were "showering". They stopped by later. Here is Sam with Lindsay, his mom who came from Bismarck and his sister Sarah.

Wedding Blessing

Some of you may remember me talking about my nephew Nate. He finished serving his second time of duty in Iraq in June. When he found he was going to be deployed the second time he and his fiance Stacey got married in a quiet ceremony. On Friday night they had a wedding blessing and celebration in Moorhead. Here are a few pictures. Since Richard and Nick were back in Fergus Falls at the football game I told my 91 year old Dad that he was my date for the evening. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of the bride and groom! I think Grandpa kept me busy!

Threshing Bee in Dalton

Once a year we take the concessions stands out of retirement to sell footlongs at Dalton. Here are some pics of our crew this week-end.
These guys crawled out of bed Saturday morning after a hard hitting football game with Willmar to work for us. I think winning the night before made it a little bit easier.
Putting these two in the stand together was a little risky but they did a good job!
Dean and Deb traveled to Alaska with us and came from Iowa to visit the Levangs this past week-end. We told them if they came to the threshing bee we would give them a footlong hotdog. Dean requested a "love boat" dessert like we had on the ship so we tried to deliver. You will have to compare it to the real "loveboat below".

WHERE'S JEFF???

It has been almost a month since Jeff went off to college. This is a picture we took of him shortly before he left. He had just come home from working the Brainerd Car Show with Hansen Amusement Foods and looking a little dirty. Jeff worked hard this summer and is now working hard up at Itasca College starting his second year in ICC's Engineering program. Jeff is a resident assistant this year and is taking stats for the football team so we have not seen him since he left school. We look forward to seeing him this week-end at cousin Nate's wedding.

Football Fans

Last week the Otters took a fan bus to Willmar. Lindsay and Laura came along and on the bus met Cadence. She is a very smart 4 year old and can tell you all about football. Her favorite football player is her Uncle Josh Campion. She is all dressed in her Minnesota Gopher football cheerleading uniform (where Josh is playing next year)and enjoying the company of her new found friends.
Cadence knows many cheers but her favorite is "Go Uncle"! She is a very serious game watcher!

FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

I have been just a little behind in blogging this summer. Life is busy! We decided to catch up today. Here are some pictures of the first home football game against Moorhead. Nick is #7. That seems to be the favorite number in our house. Jeff was #7 too when he played football.
Nick is playing wide receiver this year
Sam and Lindsay came to Nick's first game.
This was the final score against the Moorhead Spuds. It is always fun to beat Moorhead.
You can't see Nick but he is laying on the ground after getting "the wind knocked out of him". His buddy Adam #79 who is not playing due to a knee injury is fanning Nick with a towel. What a friend! This week Adam will be back in the line-up!
